The details of preparing to launch are tedious. Moving to a homeless state, a paperless existence, buttoning up life as we've known it. Sigh. Lucky to be doing this with someone I like so much, and who is deeply competent in arenas where I'm uh not so much. Where's calling us? Horizon shortening . . .

on your mark . . .
As we prepare for this journey to Japan (and beyond?), I find myself reflecting on the beauty of life here, just as it is. Apartment life is quite sweet, simple, uncomplicated, especially after owning/being owned by a 5BR Victorian for 25 years. Kids are wonderful and launched. Friendships are delightful here. Jobs are enjoyable enough, and occupy a nice, sane proportion of our lives. Is this little chapter something we want to further embrace? Or is it time to launch on an adventure abroad. Tough choice, both quite lovely.
